Naked Berkeley

Students, many having shucked their Cal logo sweats and most other clothing, protest the manufacturing of university apparel in sweatshops, and what they say is UC Berkeley's resistance to ending the practice. Campus officials say the administration supports fair and equitable labor standards and that the UC system continues to work toward strengthening that effort. UCOP has established a UC Code of Conduct, which all manufacturers producing apparel with the University of California logo must sign and agree to uphold. In addition, UC is a member of the Workers Rights Consortium and the Fair Labor Association.
