Irish in the bath

Irish in the bath photo session <> 2003

Leprechauns are little make-believe fairies that live in Ireland. The story is that if you catch one you can make him tell you where he hides his gold.

Fear me you lord and lady preacher...

Una y otra vez, con la tranquilidad de siempre...

Fear me you lord and lady preacher
I descend upon your earth from the skies
I command your very soul you unbeliever
Bring before me what is mine

Can you hear me you peer and privy councillor
I stand before you naked to the eyes
I will destroy any man who dares abuse my trust
I swear that you'll be mine

Sister i live and lie for you
Mister do and i'll die
You are mine i possess you
Belong to you forever

Storm the master marathon i'll fly through
By flash and thunder fire i'll survive
I'll survive i'll survive
Then i'll defy the laws of nature
And come out alive

Begone with you you shod and shady senator
Give out the good leave out the bad evil cries
I challenge the mighty titan and his troubadour
And with a smile
I'll take you to the seven seas of rhye

German visit on Campus

Dr. Eberhard Kolsch, Dr Roberto Rueda, Dr Edmund Stoiber, Dr. Eugenio Garcia.

Edmund Stoiber -by Florian Fischer-

-Florian and I last year in Veracruz, Mexico.-

Edmund Stoiber, governor of Bavaria with an absolute majority in the parliament, since his predecessor and promoter was convicted getting bribed more than a decade ago. Since then he leads the second largest German state in the style of a Texas -like all his predecessors did as well - unfortunately death penalty is abolished by the federal constitution. He is also head of the Bavarian conservative party that claims independence of the more liberal but besides Bavaria nationwide acting conservative party.
He makes as much slips of the tongue as George Bush and looks like Montgomery Burns, however he wasn't able to defeat the acting chancellor in the last federal elections, even though he named himself the winner on the election evening. But at the end the socialdemocrats and the nationwide conservative party whose candidate he was sent him back to the area that he defined as to be with Laptop and leather trousers. Nowadays he prays that he will get a second chance in the 2006 election to get into federal Berlin and that the female and bad looking leader of the conversative party is again too weak to become candidate herself. In the meantime he travels around the world and tries to act as a statesman without state.

It's better to light a candle than to curse the darkness

It was 9 years ago when a group of students of high school started with a not so very common project for kids our age, or for those at our school. We created Group 42 of Amnesty International, Mexican Chapter.

As we learned about AI we became totally committed to its values and objectives and were v. excited about taking action, participating, being part of huge international Human Rights organization.

We worked in several topics and cases to free prisoners of conscience, ensure fair trials for political prisoners, protect refugees, abolish the death penalty, end political killings, “disappearances” and torture, and bring to justice those responsible for human rights violations. At the time of organizing debates and conferences for our classmates.

By participating in this project we all reaffirmed our conviction and appreciation for human life and dignity, we also learn the value of reciprocity and international solidarity.

I can remember several special moments while leading this project for example when we met Mr. Pierre Sane -AI General Secretary- while he was visiting Mexico and were able to exchange points of view with him and other members of the secretariat.

But the top moment was that Urgent Action when we gather more than 3,000 signatures to prevent that day Ramon Martinez Villareal a Mexican inmate in Arizona of being executed. I can remember that day sending with my team this huge fax from this small office in Mexico State Campus to the authorities of Arizona. I don't know if it was because of our effort or any other
reason, but Martinez Villareal could live for that day.

All my respect to and gratitude to Mr. Peter Benson for giving the world hope and to this group of high school kids and the almost two million members around the globe the opportunity of fighting for an ideal and for changing the way in which we perceived and live life. Mr Benson will continue to be an inspiration. Posted by Hello

Peter Benson 1921 - 2005

Peter Benenson, the founder of the worldwide human rights organisation Amnesty International, died yesterday evening. He was 83.

Mr Benenson founded and inspired Amnesty International in 1961 first as a one-year campaign for the release of six prisoners of conscience. But from there came a worldwide movement for human rights and in its midst an international organisation -- Amnesty International -- which has taken up the cases of many thousands of victims of human rights violations and inspired millions to human rights defence the world round.

"Peter Benenson's life was a courageous testament to his visionary commitment to fight injustice around the world," said Irene Khan, Secretary General of Amnesty International.

"He brought light into the darkness of prisons, the horror of torture chambers and tragedy of death camps around the world. This was a man whose conscience shone in a cruel and terrifying world, who believed in the power of ordinary people to bring about extraordinary change and, by creating Amnesty International, he gave each of us the opportunity to make a difference."

"In 1961 his vision gave birth to human rights activism. In 2005 his legacy is a world wide movement for human rights which will never die."

The one-year Appeal for Amnesty was launched on 28 May 1961, in an article in the British newspaper, The Observer, called "The Forgotten Prisoners". That appeal attracted thousands of supporters, and started a worldwide human rights movement.

The catalyst for the original campaign was Mr Benenson's sense of outrage after reading an article about the arrest and imprisonment of two students in a café in Lisbon, Portugal, who had drunk a toast to liberty.

In the first few years of Amnesty International's existence, Mr Benenson supplied much of the funding for the movement, went on research missions and was involved in all aspects of the organisation's affairs.

Other activities that Mr Benenson was involved in during his lifetime included; adopting orphans from the Spanish Civil War, bringing Jews who had fled Hitler's Germany to Britain, observing trials as a member of the Society of Labour Lawyers, helping to set up the organisation "Justice" and establishing a society for people with coeliac disease.

At a ceremony to mark Amnesty International's 25th anniversary, Mr Benenson lit what has become the organisation's symbol -- a candle entwined in barbed wire -- with the words:

"The candle burns not for us, but for all those whom we failed to rescue from prison, who were shot on the way to prison, who were tortured, who were kidnapped, who "disappeared". That is what the candle is for."

Today Amnesty International is into its 44th year. It has become the world's largest independent human rights organisation, with more than 1.8 million members and committed supporters worldwide.

c .bk . 02 . 03

"There are hippies and stoners and gutter punks and preppy, Abercrombie-and-Fitch-donning, cell-phone-carrying socialites. There are frat boys and oddball co-opers, the politically zealous and the religious fanatics, the atheists and the trannies" at Berkeley. "The students are crazy, hailing from all geographical, philosophical, socioeconomic, political, and psychological points of view," reports one student. And they're "united by one thing: their hatred for Stanford-er, I mean thirst for learning." Sure, students here take their studies seriously, but when the competitive academic life is set aside, they're a laid-back crowd. "My fellow students and I all share the prevalent California attitude that everything is great and that things will work out." The most prevalent trait among the Berkeley student body, however, is independence. In some students' minds, this means that their classmates are "people that will really change the world, discover the cure for something, save a country, build the better mousetrap." In other students' minds, this means their classmates are "soulless GPA mongers" whose only concern is a good grade. -TPR-

I can't take my eyes off you ...

bay view window thx : I

And so it is
Just like you said it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is
The shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her sky

I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...

And so it is
Just like you said it should be
We'll both forget the breeze
Most of the time
And so it is
The colder water
The blower's daughter
The pupil in denial

I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...

Did I say that I loathe you?
Did I say that I want to
Leave it all behind?

I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind...
My mind...my mind...
'Til I find somebody new

Eyes Boring a way through me
Paralyse Controlling completely
Now there is a fire in me
Fire that burns
Fire that burns
This fire is out of controlI'm going to burn this city
Burn this city
If this fire is out of control
Then I I'm out of control and I burn
Eyes Burning a way to me
